christivanity (n.) - 1. The method in which Christians, especially evangelical fundamentalist or legalist ones, spend more time judging the actions of their fellow congregants rather than spending their time working on their own faith. 2. The manner in which they shun people who aren't following their rules when it comes to life. 3. The way modern American Christians think their faith makes them special and better than everyone else on the planet. 4. The notion that when good things happen to you, it's God smiling upon you, but ignoring the fact that in most cases, for you to succeed will lead to the misery of someone else.
"Jesus! Save me from your followers!"
Verse that is our raison d'etre: (Matthew 6:5-6) "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
This is a place where everyone can share their stories about dealing with Christians who are far too caught up in their own vanity to truly live Jesus' way. They are the modern day equivalent to the Pharisees of Jesus' time. Hence "Christivanity.com".WWJD? Not what these jerks are doing...
